Day 7 in a series.
Keeping your brain fit. Aging Americans who aren’t physically active may be missing out on a chance to protect their brains from age-related diseases that make walking and moving more difficult, according to a March 2015 study published in the journal Neurology. Keeping your brain stimulated and growing is something we all need to do on a regular basis. Luckily, there are a whole myriad of apps which can help us with this. Words with Friends, a very popular crossword puzzle – themed app from the Apple App Store, can be used not only to keep your brain stimulated, but also to connect with and challenge your friends. Luminosity was released about four years ago and has as its purpose “to keep the miracle of one’s mind growing throughout retirement.” It offers dozens of different visual and word-based games to keep your brain sharp. Brain exercise is important at any age and daily cognitive workouts are essential to a long and productive life.
